Matis Ferrini

Originally from Aosta Valley (Italy), moved to the UK where I obtained a BSc in Chemistry of Drug Discovery from the University of Lincoln in 2024. As an individual with a strong enthusiasm for chemistry, my career aspiration lies in research and achieving a PhD. I am driven by my desire to learn, the freedom to use the skills acquired during my years at university and contribute to the collective knowledge.

I am currently working alongside Dr Arun Chutia and Prof. Stewart F. Parker on a collaborative project that implements computational and experimental methods to study the methanol synthesis catalyst. Specifically, we are combining Density Functional Theory (DFT) quantum chemical calculations alongside Inelastic Neutron Spectroscopy (INS) techniques to give us a comprehensive understanding of the catalytic process.
